Weekly Reflection - Fifth week

Image
The fifth week of my teaching practice at Government HSS Anchalummood was marked by meaningful classroom activities and fresh beginnings. I was able to finish the remaining activities of Little Things Matter by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and also begin teaching the poem Hope is the Thing with Feathers by Emily Dickinson. On Monday, August 11th, I focused on the pending activities of Little Things Matter. On Tuesday, August 12th, I handled the third set of activities. The students first prepared sentences beginning with question words and auxiliary verbs, followed by framing WH-questions for the underlined portions of given sentences. They participated actively throughout the session. My class was observed by Anamika mam the same day.  On Wednesday, August 13th, I wrapped up the final two activities from the prose chapter, which included question tags and greetings. The greetings activity, in particular, created a lively atmosphere, as students enjoyed practicing real-life communication...

Weekly Reflection - Fourth Week

Image
The fourth week of my teaching practice at Government HSS Anchalummood turned out to be more organized and engaging, as it consisted of a full five working days. My bond with Class 8F grew stronger during this period, and I started feeling more confident and connected with my learners. On Monday, August 4th, I continued teaching the prose piece “Little Things Matter” by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. The learners showed genuine interest in the lesson, and I made use of charts, flashcards, and activity cards to simplify the concepts. The focus of the class was to highlight how small actions contribute to significant achievements. Throughout the week, I moved forward with the lesson steadily, ensuring that the students not only understood the text but also related its values to their everyday experiences. By Thursday, August 7th, I was able to complete the chapter successfully. This day held special significance as Amjada Ma’am observed my teaching. Her presence motivated me to deliver the best...

Weekly Reflection - Third Week

Image
Despite having only two working days — Thursday and Friday — this week added meaningful moments to my teaching internship at Government HSS Anchalummood . Short though it was, the week offered space for deeper engagement and personal growth in my role as a teacher trainee. Stepping into Class 8G , my assigned class, I noticed a shift — not just in the students, but in myself. The classroom now feels like a space of shared understanding. Students approached the lesson with more curiosity, and I found myself more confident in navigating their questions and encouraging their voices. We continued working through the lesson “Little Things Matter” by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam , focusing on how small actions can have lasting impacts. The discussion sparked thoughtful responses, and many students were eager to share personal reflections, linking the text to real-life experiences. I tried to make the sessions more dynamic by integrating visual aids and activity-based tools — from flashca...
