Fathima Memorial Training College, Mylapore celebrated International Yoga Day with a refreshing and thought-provoking programme organized by the NSS Unit (KL-07-178). The event was held in the Seminar Hall with enthusiastic participation from both students and faculty members. The highlight of the session was an engaging demonstration by yoga trainer S. Vijayakumari, who led the participants through various yogāsanas, pranayama practices, and relaxation techniques. Her step-by-step guidance helped everyone understand how yoga supports physical fitness as well as mental calmness. Participants joined the sessions with enthusiasm, guided by the spirit of mindfulness and well-being. The serene atmosphere, motivational reflections, and unified participation made the celebration both calming and energizing.   READING DAY As part of Reading Day celebrations on June 19, the NSS Unit (KL-07-178) of Fathima Memorial Training College, Kollam, hosted a vibrant literary event in the college Seminar Hall. The programme, led by Principal Dr. M. Omanaseelan and NSS Programme Officer Smt. Asha Rani P., paid tribute to the legacy of P.N. Panicker —the father of the reading movement in Kerala. Designed to spark a lifelong love for reading, the event featured an array of engaging activities including reading sessions, story narration, book reviews, and poem recitations. One of the highlights was a thoughtful book donation drive, where NSS volunteers gifted books to school students as part of a unique reading challenge. Student coordinators Annie Panthali John and Bismi ensured the day was interactive, enriching, and memorable for all. The celebration served as a beautiful reminder that reading not only enlightens minds but also connects communities.
