Weekly Reflection - THIRD WEEK

Image
This was the third week of our teaching practice, and it turned out to be a very productive one. Except for Friday, I had the first period on all other days. On some days, I also handled a class in 9A, even though my regular class is 9G, which gave me additional teaching exposure. We attended a class on DigiLocker this week and also handled lunchtime duties and also duties regarding the English library arrangement. These responsibilities helped me interact more with students and maintain a friendly rapport with them. Academically, I completed the first chapter, The Unstoppable Wave Surfer, along with all its activities and notes. I also began teaching the second chapter, A Shield of Courage. I am currently on the third lesson plan of this chapter, and the classes are going smoothly, especially the ICT-enabled sessions. Overall, it was a good and fulfilling week that helped me grow in confidence and classroom engagement. Lesson...

Weekly Reflection - SECOND WEEK

Image
This week marked the second week of my second-phase teaching practice, and unlike the previous one, it was a complete five-day schedule from Monday to Friday. Each day brought fresh experiences that helped me grow both personally and professionally. I handled five classes throughout the week and gradually felt my confidence strengthening. My rapport with the students improved noticeably — they greeted me warmly, participated actively, and showed genuine enthusiasm during the lessons. I continued covering the assigned portions using flashcards, charts, activity cards, and short warm-up tasks to keep the sessions interactive and student-friendly. A pleasant highlight of the week was Thursday’s Library work. Organizing and arranging books reminded me that teaching is not only about instructing but also about creating welcoming learning spaces. The week remained smooth and structured, Friday’s special Children’s Day assembly was organized by t...

Our second phase of teaching practice began on 5th November 2025. I, along with Riza and Aleena, reached GHSS Anchalummood by 9:20 a.m. I was assigned to Class 9G, whereas during the first phase, I had taught Class 8G. On the very first day, I had the first period and went to the class feeling a mix of excitement and responsibility. The students were quite cooperative and attentive, which made my first day of the second phase pleasant and encouraging. The next day, 6th November, also went smoothly. The students listened carefully, participated actively in the classroom activities, and responded well throughout the session. On 7th November, I had the third period and continued teaching the story “The Unstoppable Soul Surfer” by Bethany Hamilton. I conducted classroom activities based on the lesson, and the students enthusiastically engaged in completing the activity cards and answering the questions. The day was made even more lively as the school celebrated winning the first prize in t...
