Weekly Reflection - Second Week

Image
The second week of our teaching internship at Government HSS Anchalummood , from July 21 to July 26 , 2025 , brought a sense of rhythm and deeper connection to our journey as student-teachers. With every passing day, the classroom began to feel more familiar, and the role of a teacher more natural. Monday began on an engaging note. There was a quiz competition based on reading, encouraging students to reflect on the importance of books and comprehension. It was heartening to see the enthusiasm with which they participated. Continuing the literary spirit, Wednesday’s quiz on the life and works of Vaikom Muhammad Basheer brought lively discussion and admiration for the legendary writer, enriching the knowledge of students.   WEEKLY REFLECTION- FIRST WEEK OF TEACHING   PRACTICE The first week of my teaching internship at Government HSS Anchalummood —which began on July 14, 2025—was an eye-opening blend of learning, reflecting, and growing. A particularly rewarding experience for me was teaching the poem “The Seven Ages of Man” to Class 8 G. It was with its challenges—managing classroom behaviour was something I had to quickly learn to navigate. But the...

WORLD POPULATION DAY On July 11, 2025, Fathima Memorial Training College, Mylapore, Kollam, observed World Population Day with a meaningful and thought-provoking program led by our NSS Unit (KL-07-178). As an active NSS volunteer, I felt a deep sense of pride in being part of an event that did more than commemorate a date—it opened our eyes to an issue that affects us all. The day began with a warm and energetic gathering in the Seminar Hall, beautifully decorated to reflect the spirit of awareness and action. A quiz competition tested our knowledge on global population trends, their implications, and key statistics. It was not just about correct answers, but about realizing the gravity of a growing concern we often overlook. The highlight for many of us was the engaging debate session. Students passionately presented arguments on overpopulation, environmental impact, and the urgent need for better policies and public awareness. The exchange of ideas was sharp, respectful, and e...
