READING DAY
As part of Reading Day celebrations on June 19, the NSS Unit (KL-07-178) of Fathima Memorial Training College, Kollam, hosted a vibrant literary event in the college Seminar Hall. The programme, led by Principal Dr. M. Omanaseelan and NSS Programme Officer Smt. Asha Rani P., paid tribute to the legacy of P.N. Panicker—the father of the reading movement in Kerala.
Designed to spark a lifelong love for reading, the event featured an array of engaging activities including reading sessions, story narration, book reviews, and poem recitations. One of the highlights was a thoughtful book donation drive, where NSS volunteers gifted books to school students as part of a unique reading challenge.
Student coordinators Annie Panthali John and Bismi ensured the day was interactive, enriching, and memorable for all. The celebration served as a beautiful reminder that reading not only enlightens minds but also connects communities.
