Weekly Reflection - Eighth Week

This week of teaching practice at GHSS Anchalummood was both productive and engaging. I reached the school by 9.20 a.m. each day and continued my lessons with steady preparation and planning. In the classroom, I completed the chapter The Day My World Changed by Malala Yousafzai. ICT tools such as presentations and video clips were used to make the lesson more interactive and to help students connect with the text. After the lesson, I guided them through comprehension and follow-up activities like letter writing and short paragraph writing, which helped reinforce their understanding.

I also introduced new grammar topics this week. Question Tag was taught using the Direct Method, while Pronouns were explained with the help of the Advance Organizer Model. These approaches encouraged student participation and made grammar practice more systematic.

Apart from regular classes, there was a science exhibition conducted at the school, where we got the opportunity to witness our students' talents. The school atmosphere was also filled with youth festival preparations. I assisted teachers and fellow trainees in organizing English competitions, preparing chest numbers, and helping students during practice sessions. Balancing these activities with classroom teaching made the week busy but meaningful.

Overall, this week helped me gain more confidence in classroom management, ICT integration, and grammar teaching methods, while also giving me a chance to actively contribute to school-level activities.
